On December 4, 2025, Darien Mayor Joseph Marchese presented Paul Garrison, of Frugal Muse Books, a certificate in recognition of their 25th anniversary as a proud Darien business. Owners Paul and his wife, Robyn, offer not only books, but have an extensive inventory of vinyl records, CD’s, videos, games, and so much more. They also host in-store events with guest authors, and open mic nights featuring singers and poets. Paul is passionate about the book business, stating “People should buy their books from a store that loves books.” With online shopping dominating the market, Paul says “Every single day, multiple times, we hear, ‘Thank God you are here because there aren’t stores like this.” Frugal Muse is located at 7511 S Lemont Road, Darien, in the Chestnut Court Shopping Center.
